What is Pikud HaOref?
Pikud HaOref (פיקוד העורף) is Israel's Home Front Command, responsible for protecting the civilian population in wartime and emergency situations. It issues immediate alerts via siren, the official app, SMS, and its website.
Alert Categories
Rockets & Mortars
Immediate shelter required. Enter a protected space within the time indicated for your zone (15 seconds to 3 minutes).
Hostile UAV / Drone
Enter a protected space. Avoid exposure to the sky. Do not approach fallen objects.
Earthquake
Protect yourself under a sturdy table or in a doorframe. Evacuate carefully after the tremors stop.
Tsunami
Move immediately to high ground, at least 300 metres from the coast.
CBRN Hazard
Seal yourself in a room: close all openings with wet towels and tape. Do not go outside.
